Dairy Farms Collective Standards
  • Farms are expected to keep daily milk records per cow. 

  • Farms keep track of medication used in dairy herds.

  • The farmer indicates whether medication was used or not with the milk figures of each cow and indicate in the milk records if the withdrawal period was followed. 

  • AV dairy group does not permit the use of Ivermectin in lactating cows and in animals that are going to be sold for meat. Ivermectin can be used (with care) in non-milking animals and young stock.

  • The milk and medical records should be submitted to the dairy group at the end of the month before the next meeting.

  • Farms should also keep details of concentrate fed (kind and total amount) and supply this info when the dairy group asks for it.

  • Farms maintain a minimum of 50 meter of irrigated fodder grass in good condition per animal kept.

  • Newborn calves should get a minimum 3 Litres milk per day for their first 3 months.

  • Details of concentrates and fodder (types and weights) fed to cows provided to Dairy Group on request.
